What to expect when selling footwear on BoxFox

On BoxFox, buyers expect each footwear lot to be in new condition (not previously purchased and returned by a customer). However, it's possible that shoes within your lot may have been tested on a treadmill or run outside the store.

For each purchase, buyers may use the inventory reconciliation system to receive a refund for products that differ from their expected condition. Buyers selling on premium marketplaces need and expect products to be in brand new condition since product condition directly affects the sale price and turn rate.

You can greatly minimize buyer refund requests by cleaning shoes before they exit the store.

There are 3 levels of wear on BoxFox:

  1. Cleanable ($3 refund) - With some cleaning, the shoe can be restored to brand new condition.
  2. Uncleanable (50% refund) - Regardless of cleaning effort, the shoe cannot be restored to new and must be sold in a condition such as "used - very good/pre-owned."
  3. Unsellable (100% refund) - Shoes in this condition show excessive scrapes/scuffs, wear on the soles, and ground-in dirt. They cannot effectively be sold, even as used.

2. Uncleanable (50% refund):
